IGFPAK Workshop Proposals for APrIGF 2014

IGF Pakistan has finalized two workshop proposals for the APrIGF 2014.

1. Governance for the Internet of Kids, Teenagers and Youngsters,
2. Internet for Local Languages and IDN cc/gTLDs

1. Governance for the Internet of Kids, Teenagers and Youngsters

Proposed topics for the agenda of first workshop includes the followings:

1. Security: Online Safety/ Protection & Legislation for Kids, Teenagers and Youngsters Internet.
2. Legislation: Privacy & Human Rights and Obligations for Kids, Teenagers and Youngsters
3. Innovation: Creative Ideas to be supported like new IDN gTLDs e.g dotKID(S), or dotBaby
4. Recognition: Invites stakeholders to represent collective or individual efforts, acknowledge their
initiatives, and develop central repository highlighting achievements.
5. Desirable Internet: (Let us implement Civilized Internet)
6. Way forward…

A tentative list of speakers has been submitted along with the proposal which is consisting on the names of last year panelists.

2. Internet for Local Languages and IDN cc/gTLDs

This workshop is proposed to cover the following thematic areas of Interest:

1. Principles and Roadmap for Internet Governance (IDN, IDNA, IDN cc/gTLDs, Uni/Punycode)
2. Enhanced Cooperation & the Multi-stakeholder model (Native and Linguistic Communities)
3. Globalization of ICANN and the IANA function (Delivery of Multilingual Internet/ Domains)
4. Regional perspectives and differences in Internet Governance (Native and Linguistic Communities)
5. Cross-border issues in the Asia Pacific region
6. Supporting linguistic diversity
7. Internet access: Last mile and Mobile (Native and Linguistic Features & Functionality)
8. Internet access for remote communities: the First Mile (Native and Linguistic Communities)
9. Consumer Protection for users of global Internet services
10. Reconciliation & sharing of best practices in the Justice Sector
11. Internet business in the Asia Pacific region
12. Virtual goods and virtual currencies
13. Internet for socio-economic development

The name of the panelists has to be defined yet.
